Child Prostitution Growing in the U.S.A.
Human trafficking or otherwise called child prostitution is an American problem most people don’t even know exist.
Most people think this only happens in other countries when in fact early statistics show more than 400,000 child prostitutes are in the U.S. alone, over 800,000 in the world.
According to the FBI the money in child prostitution is much higher than adult prostitution and this problem is getting worse.
The FBI also says that pimps are advertising more on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and My Space, to attract and recruit the children.
The average age for a child prostitute in the United States is 12 years old and anywhere between the ages of 11 to 17. I remember reading about one girl that was rescued in an FBI raid that was only 9 years old.
Many people can’t believe that human trafficking is such a huge problem in the United States. Thousands of children are bought and sold for sex every day across America.
Some of these children are taken to truck stops and made to do thirty sex acts per day and if they try to escape their pimps beat them so badly that they don’t try to leave a second time for fear of getting beaten to death.
Every now and then, the public will hear about human trafficking in the United States, when in fact if the news media reported child prostitution every time it happened, there wouldn’t be any time left to tell other stories.
The internet is vastly being used for child prostitution! The pimps have taken it off of the streets where it can be seen and have now hidden it on the internet.
Statistics will only grow exponentially unless we’re proactive and protect our children and teens against this terrible crime.

Hi Daryl,
This is a very intense and sensitive subject. Who knew! I appreciate you bringing this information to the masses to increase awareness that this actually goes on in our country.
Awareness is the first step in reducing and preventing human trafficking of our children here or anywhere in our world. Thanks for the share!

Thank you Fredric for your comments concerning this terrible problem. You’re right, awareness along with education needs to be exercised to prevent even more children from becoming victims.
I’ve found in the majority of cases parents don’t get involved in their childs safety until it’s too late.
I would love to hear why that is?
I know this is a sensitve subject but if we don’t teach our children, there’s a much greater chance it will happen to them too!
Let me know your thoughts!
Thank you

Daryl,
I had no idea that the average age was 12 of a child prostitution. That’s so sad but it’s great you are pointing out this situation. I thank God that I met you. You have opened my eyes more than you can ever imagine on the issue of child safety! You are better preparing me for when I do have kids! (haha)

Daryl,
You and I have actually spoken about this in the past. Not only is child prostitution a major problem here but we aren’t even getting into the fact that many of them are transported out of the county. That itself is a major problem.
It’s amazing that there are enormous human sex slave rings all over this country and the world.
If there was any doubt that the mainstream media is not on our side as they once were many years ago, I think this illustrates that just fine.
Thanks for the post Daryl!!
It’s sad that these children go through this because most people choose not to be proactive.
Police have bullit proof vest’s, firemen have their safety equipment, but yet children don’t have a chance when it comes to protection unless we, as parents, and adults teach them.
It’s time we start helping our children and teens instead of ignoring the problem!

I agree Glenn and thank you for your help. Early stats show that about half of the 800,000 in the world are here in the USA.
Recently, I heard of recruiters going out and finding different age groups to target for a heart or kidneys too. People pay big money to a person if their child needs a vital organ and when they get what they need, they trash the child.
Daryl
WOW! I never knew the statistics before. Thank you for bringing this to light. More and more people need to know this information and I admire you so much for bringing awareness to all of us here. Thank You Daryl!

Daryl, These are disgusting statistics. You mentioned that police get bullet proof vests and children get nothing as far as protection goes. You are absolutely right. And it doesn’t help that states like Rhode Island make 16 the minimum age to be a stripper. Our society has completely sold out our children with their lame laws and progressively immoral culture. UGH. Now I sound like a preacher’s wife or something. It’s just that it makes me sick to see what the media deems appropriate for prime time viewing nowadays, and then “Shockingly” reports on the tragedies that our children endure at the hands of psychos.
Such hypocracty. Thanks for bringing the spotlight to such a crucial issue. Great article.
Hi Theresa, I thought you was a preachers wife, just kidding.
I didn’t know that about Rhode Island.
Between the people not wanting to step up and help with this problem, and the predators, our children don’t have a chance to live a normal productive and healthy life!
Thank you for your response Theresa!

Thank you Therese for your response to this post! Please share with others too.
First we have to create an awareness of the problem and then give a call to action to parents so we can combat this ever growing challenge that our children are facing.
I would love to hear what you’re doing to prevent this from happening, and to ensure your families safety.
Thank you Therese.

This is important info for people to know about! It disgusts me that so many people are doing this to innocent children! And also the parents need to do more about monitoring what their children are doing with their time and things like this would happen less. I appreciate what you’re doing!
Thank you Raquel for your comments!
You’re right, we’re going to have to stand up to these predators and fight back!
What are you doing to protect your children?

Jesus, Daryl, I had no idea that this was such an enormous issue in the US… You’ve opened my eyes. Now what do we do?

Garrett Miller´s last blog ..Blogging Takes Time
Hi Garrett, Thank you for your comment and question.
The first thing we have to do is make parents aware of these terrible statistics, and that the statistics will only grow if we do nothing.
Second we have to educate our children by role playing and teaching them everyday safety tips of what to do in certain situations dealing with people.
By doing this we educate not scare the child. Children are very smart and if we teach them what to do, they will do it.
If a child knows what to do they will get out of a harmful situation 84% of the time.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the Amber Alert, finger print cards, DNA kits, and tracking devices.
Although these are good programs none of these programs do anything to prevent a child from becoming missing.
There’s only one company that sets itself apart from all other companies in which we offer a comprehensive program that the parent shares with their child or teen that virtually eliminates them from ever going missing, and we have a recovery program in place thats proven to get your child or teen back safely.
If a child thats in our program ever becomes missing for any reason even if they run away. We will put up a $50,000 reward for info leading to the person responsible, hire a full time private investigator, make a poster and video clip available to all Law enforcement’s lap top computer’s in their vehicles within 100 mile radius of where their child was reported missing and send out posters and videos to over 16,000 agencies nationwide including local and state police, FBI, National Center For Missing And Exploited Children, News media, and Airports all at no additional cost to the parent.
No other company profit or non-profit or even Law enforcement has ever duplicated all of the benefits we offer at Child Shield, U.S.A since 1990.
If any member finds another company that duplicates all of the benefits we do, we’ll give them our program for free for 10 years and a check for $1000.00
Since 1990 we’ve protected over 1.7 million children and as of today we have 0 children missing.
This gives parents, peace of mind knowing that they have done everything possible to ensure your child and teens safety.

Hi Daryl, I read your blog about the alarming stats on child prostitution in the USA and I think it should be mandatory that before someone can become a parent that they have to become educated on how they can keep their children safe. Parents need to be educated first in order to be able to educate their children. One of the biggest mis-concepts people seem to have is it won’t happen to my child. Thanks for your knowledge and concern for all children everywhere.
Thank you for your comment Carolyn.
I agree education is the key. Most parents don’t know how to educate their children on this subject so they just ignore it altogether.
It takes proactive parents to prevent such tragedies.
Daryl
Daryl,
Thank you so much for putting the real news out there. I am actually doing a term paper on this same issue. I was shocked that only a few people were even a aware of this issue. If you get a chance read on a little year old name Shanya Davis, Her mother sold her for sex and the little girl was murdered. This is the real deal. this is whats really happening to our children. Thank you again for putting the word out there.
Shanya Davis was only 5 years old
Hi Candace,
Thank you for your feedback. Shanya was from the state I live in and it was a very high profile case here.
If we don’t love and teach our children about how to be safe they won’t have a chance in life!
