Google is the number 1 search engine and if your business is not listed on Google it’s like NOT being in the largest online phonebook in the world. It’s vitally important to claim your Google business listing since more people are doing a local search when looking for a product or service close to their home. Google Places for business is a way to get your business found in the Google local search results. This includes both Google Search and Google Maps and it’s shocking but most business owners don’t even have a Google business listing.

All you need to do is open a free Google gmail account and you’ll have instant access to all of Google’s free services along with being in the Google business directory.

Once you’ve done this very simple task go to Google Places and claim your business listing. If your business doesn’t show up initially simply type in some basic information and list your business in the Google local listings. To activate your Google local listing type in your business phone number and Google’s automated system will call you immediately with a pin number for you to plug in to verify your new Google business listing.

This will also prevent someone else or your competition from claiming your local Google listing and filling in bogus information about your business.

Having a fully optimized Google places listing is vital in today’s economy and should be the foundation for every business on and off line! Here’s a few tips on how you can optimize your Google business listing:

• Name of your business,
• address,
• phone number,
• website address,
• hours of operation,
• description,
• categories,
• payment options such as Visa, MasterCard etc.,
• 10 photo’s of your business,
• 1 video of your business and any additional details.

I’ve found that there are basically 3 different kind’s of people: some folks like to learn how to do certain tasks, some like to learn how and apply what they’ve learned and some people don’t want to learn or they may not have the time or patience but they want someone to do the task for them.

While the masses are doing SEO, PPC, Ezine articles, and Video’s and trying to make it to the top of the first page on Google in their niche, there’s a new sleeping Giant that most people haven’t even considered advertising on…

With 400 million people on Facebook in the world, thats about the same amount of men, women, and children in the USA.

Facebook also gets 39 billion page views per month, more than any website in the world including Google.

Wouldn’t it be great to only target customers most likely to purchase your service or product?

Do You Have An Interview Process?

When you add people to your organization do you sign up anyone or do you put them through an interview process first?

Here are a few questions you may want to consider asking before you add someone you know nothing about to your team!

• Their Name, address, phone number, email address.
• Place of employment now.
• Their background.
• What’s more valueable:  Time or money?
• Why are you looking for a business?
• Do you know what an entrepreneur is?
• Do you have at least 10 hours per week to dedicate to your business?
• Is there any reason why I couldn’t do a background check on you?
• What’s causing you to look for a business?
• How much money do you want to generate in a business of your own?
• Can you see yourself making $5000 to $10,000 per month?
• Other than money, what are you wanting to accomplish from your business?
• Are you content with your life or do you want something more?
• Are you willing to work for what you want out of life and in your business?

Just remember, you’re going to have to work with this person so you’ll want to find out as much information as you can to see if they will be a great fit for your business and your time.

Do you know the four different personalities?

You may want to do a little research of your own to help you add the right people to your business. None of the different types are the wrong types. This just lets you know which one’s you’re willing to spend your precious time and energy on and that makes a perfect match for your business.

I would rather have 10 people that I could work with than 100 people I had to baby-sit and wipe their noses.

I remember years ago I would sign up anybody that was breathing. Now I put them through an interview process first. If they answer the questions right I will let them know if we’re right for each other or not. Don’t feel bad if you have to let a few go sometime’s because your time is much more valuable than just signing up anyone.

One of the best ways to find out what personality a person has is to ask questions and listen to their answers. Remember God gave you one mouth and two ears, so listen more than you talk.

Here’s a brief example of the four main personalities:

1. Phlegmatic: (Flat) Makes up 35% of the population. They’re givers, they don’t like conflict or change, not easily excited, laid back and easy going. They don’t like to rock the boat.  They like to talk about family, kids and vacation. They don’t like aggressive sales people.
2. Choleric: (Commander) Makes up 15% of the population. They’re the bossy type, stubborn, money motivated, arrogant, non coachable. They’re focused on getting things done. Don’t tell them about your family or vacation because they don’t care. They don’t like anyone telling them what to do either.
3. Sanguine: (Social) Makes up 15% of the population. They enjoy having fun all of the time and talking about fun activities. They like telling stories and they jump from opportunity to opportunity all of the time looking for more fun things to do. They already have a good idea of the details without you explaining everything to them. They love interaction and are the most creative.
4. Melancholy: (Mental) Makes up 35% of the population. They love to research and analyze everything to death. They hardly ever make a decision because they never stop analyzing and researching. They want to know all of the details before getting started. They believe they’re the smartest people on earth.

Just remember the next time you interview someone for your business, ask questions and listen. You just might find out what personality they have and if you think they will become a great fit for you and your business.

Perspectives On Life

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had a few items in front of him. When the class began he picked up a large mayonnaise jar and filled it up with golf balls.

He then ask the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of small pebbles and poured them into the jar and shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. Then the professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. The sand filled up the jar. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded “yes.”

The professor then poured two cups of freshly brewed coffee into the jar filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions-and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first, there’s no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend all of your time and energy on the small stuff you’ll never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play anoyher 18 holes. There will always be time to clean and fix things around the house.

Take care of the golf balls first-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One student raised her hand and asked “what does the coffee represent?” The professor smiled and said “I’m glad you asked”

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

Shouldn’t The Government have The Same Health Care They Want Us To Have?

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a 
two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require 
all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health 
plan.

It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our 
congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!  Three cheers for 
Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana!

Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an 
amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same 
healthcare plan they force on us (Under Proposed Legislation They Are 
Curiously Exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign 
his petition (very simple – just first, last and email). I have 
immediately done just that at:  http://fleming.house.gov/index.html

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should 
have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their 
families.

Online Petition Opposing Government Run Health Care

President Obama and Congress are pushing hard to revamp our national health care system.  While health care legislation is more confusing than ever – there’s one thing that’s very clear:  Government-run health care is unacceptable, and the time to voice opposition is right now.
 
The American Center for Law and Justice is mobilizing and demanding that Congress REJECT any government-run health care program.  The Administration’s idea of health care ”reform” is a dangerous plan that could open the door to make abortion a mandatory ”health benefit.”

You”ll need to purchase your own domain name and web hosting which is about $10 a month for both. I chose 1and1 because they’re less expensive or more economical and they have the same features and benefits as the other top domain companies.

Next you’ll need to go to Wordpress.org, by doing this you will have a blog that’s 100% yours and that’s ranked highly by the search engines. If you need help setting up your blog, you can always ask me your questions and there are a plethora of specific videos on Youtube showing exactly how to, step by step.

Once you get your blog set up you’ll need to find a theme for your blog or what you would like for your main page to look like, these options will be in your back office of your personal blog or page. To go to your back office after setting up your Wordpress.org page, go to: Your domain name.com/wp-admin. Now you can start by letting your audience know a little about yourself to help people get to know you better.

Next you will need to decide what plugins you would like to have on your blog. Plugins are things like widgets, RSS feeds (real simple syndication), and other buttons that will help others share your content that will be on either side of your pages on your blog.

5 Steps For Great Video’s

1. Establish Credibility: Breifly tell about yourself and why someone should spend their time listening to you? 99% should be about solving other people’s problem’s, adding value and problem solution.
2. Present The Problem:  Tell how you’re going to solve this problem. Provide a solution.
3. Allaborate on the problem: Don’t over do it.
4. Solution, The Key To Success: Pour out value, tips, training etc…Don’t give away all the details.
5. Call to Action: Invite this person to visit your blog or your website (not your company replicated website). Make sure your link appears on your video the whole time.
